Congratulations to GHS alum, Delaney Sillman, who completed a GHS SVYM internship in Mysuru, India in summer 2016 (photo below), and who now as a graduate student in the Department of City & Metropolitan Planning at The University of Utah has published an article with her colleagues on the important topic, "Do sex and gender modify the association between green space and physical health?"

In her free time, she enjoys getting involved in the community and giving back. Aseel hopes to meet new people with similar goals at IC Compassion and to contribute to the community.

"Combining the social justice education she gained through her global health studies courses and her passion for advocating for transgender rights," she chose poetry as a means of addressing the recent wave of anti-transgender legislation.

Palliative care provision is a growing issue in India. A majority of the Indian population with chronic, terminal, or life-limiting diseases live in a persistent state of pain and suffering. Palliative care is a specialized form of medicine focusing on symptom alleviation for those with serious illnesses.
GHS Cert Alum, Dr. Julie Reynolds, Receives Grant for Maternal and Child Healthcare Study

Dr. Julie Reynolds, research fellow in residence in the Health Policy Research Program, was awarded a $99,000 grant from the Department of Health and Human Services for a Maternal and Child Health Field-Initiated Research Program. She will be studying access to Medicaid dental care among pregnant women and young children.
