The interdisciplinary minor in global health studies is designed for students who wish to study the complex factors influencing health and disease locally and around the world. It requires a minimum of 15 s.h., including 12 s.h. in courses completed at the University of Iowa.
A maximum of 6 s.h. of coursework used to satisfy requirements for another major, minor, or certificate may be applied toward the minor. This includes 2nd areas/concentrations/cognates, with the exception of the Journalism and Mass Communication B.A. (for which no overlap will be assessed).
To request approval of a course for the GHS BA which is not currently on the approved list, students can submit an online course petition.
