The Office of Sustainability and the Environment is excited to announce that the 2022 One Sustainable Iowa Conference organizers are proud to partner with the Underrepresented Students in Sustainability mentorship program to host an Environmental Justice panel on Saturday, April 9 from 2:40 to 3:25 pm in W151 Pappajohn Business Building. The Panel will include campus faculty and experts who will speak on environmental justice, their research, and experiences.

Panelists include:

  1. Dr. Carly Nichols, Department of Geographical & Sustainability Sciences/ Global Health Studies Program, College of Liberal Arts & Sciences
  2. Dr. Silvia Secchi, Department of Geographical & Sustainability Science, College of Liberal Arts & Sciences
  3. Dr. Shannon Watkins, Department of Community & Behavioral Health, College of Public Health

Each panelist will have the opportunity to speak for about 10 minutes about environmental justice, their research, experience, and more! The remainder of the session will be an engaging Q+A session led by the student leaders of the Underrepresented Students in Sustainability mentorship program.
